Emergency Services District No.2 is a political subdivision of the State of Texas.  We serve Bexar County as a taxing entity to support your emergency services such as fire suppression and EMS first response service.  

Bexar County ESD No. 2 will be holding Public Hearings on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 6:30 PM and Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 6:30 PM.

Bexar County ESD No. 2 will be holding it monthly meeting on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 6:45 PM.
 
The Meetings will be held at the Station 121 Training Room located at 2096 Talley Talley Road, San Antonio, Texas 78253.


Notice of Public Hearing On Tax Increase


The BEXAR COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICE DISTRICT
No. 2 (“ESD #2”) will hold two public hearings on a proposal to increase total tax revenues from properties on the tax roll in the preceding tax year by 1.05 percent (percentage by which proposed tax rate exceeds lower of rollback tax rate or effective tax calculated under Chapter 26,Tax Code).  Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser rate, or even decrease, depending on the change in the taxable value of your property in relation to the change in taxable value of all other property and the tax rate that is adopted.

The first public hearing will be held on August 24, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at ESD #2, Station 121Training Room, 2096 Talley Road, San Antonio,Texas 78253.

The second public hearing will be held on August 29, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at ESD #2, 2096Talley Road, Station 121 Training Room, San Antonio,Texas 78253.

The members of the governing body voted on the proposal to consider the tax increase as follows:
FOR: James Benito, David Harris, Randy McGinnis
AGAINST: None
PRESENT and not voting: None
ABSENT: Richard Cash

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in 2016, last year was $203,582.00. Based on last year’s tax rate of $0.10 per $100.00 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed last year on the average home was $203.58.

The average taxable value of a residence homestead in 2017 this year is $214,240.00. If the governing body adopts the effective tax rate for this year of .095633 per $100.00 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on the average home would be $204.88.

If the governing body adopts the proposed tax rate of $.10 per $100.00 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this year on the average home would be $214.24.
